Oh The Holidays...

How the time flies by!! I can not believe that it is already December. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Me and GR drove to Showlow on Wednesday and Thursday I spent baking with my mom. We tried a new pumpkin cheesecake pie and it turned out fantastic! We ended up at Grandma's for dinner that night and had a good time. It is always great to see everyone and all the cousins were there. It's been awhile since that happened since our family has became so large so it was a great time. Friday Ms. Colbi cut my hair and me and my mom gladly watched Paige for the rest of the weekend since Amy worked and Brandon took Kohan down to the ranch. We had fun and according to GR spending all weekend with Paige still didnt get the 'baby kick' out of me haha. Unfortantely after mom spent all day Saturday making a great turkey dinner again for us ASU lost to UofA but it was really no suprise. Sunday ending in everyone in the family being sick besides dad. He talked all kinds of crap that he had such a great immune system but ended up sick on Monday ha. So we basically spent the day on the couch watching the Cardinals game and trying to get better.

So given this time of year, when most people think of such things, here are some things that I'm thankful for:

1. This wonderful, supportive guy. Even though we have our ups and downs we have been through so much together and it amazes me on a daily basis how caring he is. He may be anti kid now but there are moments like these that make me 100% sure that when the right time comes he will be such a great father. He is always offering me help and I know that when it comes down to it, I can always count on him.

2. My crazy supportive family. They are alwasy there for me and are behind me all the way no matter my decisions. I really couldnt ask for a better family and I thank my lucky stars we are all so close and get along as well as we do. If not for my family I would truly be lost. My parents set such a great example of what a marriage should be like and what it means to truly be a mom and dad. My brother has such a big heart and he is always there to make you laugh and give you a big tease. My sister is never judging. I know that I can always go to her for anything and she will always give me great advice. and every one of my family members gives great hugs!!

3. My adorable niece and nephew. Kohan can be a crazy man but deep down that kohan we know is there and he really has such a great heart. You can always count on him to tell you that you look cute or your outfit looks good. Paige is seriously the most easy going happy baby ever. She can always make laugh and her smile really lights up a room.

4. My coworkers. Most people can't stand people they work with. I can honestly say I absolutely love every single one of my team members. We are one big family who looks out for eachother and you always know that you can count on them. They geniuenly care for you and you can never doubt that they hope nothing but the best for you.
5. Dolce. She is seriously the best dog ever. I know everyone says that but from day one when I got her she has molded into my life and around my heart. Even GR who is not a dog person is wrapped around her paw. She just looks at you with those sad little chocolate eyes and you cant help but give into her. There is nothing better than coming home to someone sooo excited to see you everyday and bouncing off the walls cuz you are home.
With that said on the 18th I have to have surgeory :( Unfortunately I have found some lumps in my boobs a couple months ago and didnt think much of it. My OB said it was normal for them to come and go. Well then they became painful and much larger. So I had an ultrasound and mammogram done and they recommended immediate removal. So I go in on the 18th to get them removed cuz they dont want to take the time to have them biopsied due to their size. So they'll remove them and we will go from there depending on the lab results following the surgeory. Im a little nervous just cuz I've never done anything including breaking a bone(knock on wood) so this will be my first adventure. Mom came down and we met my surgeon who we instantly liked and she, amy and dad will be here that day to support me. So we are staying positive and just thinking its better to find it now than later on.
Other than that life is moving full ahead and its decorating time! Went to Hobby Lobby and got great deals on new decor and xmas threw up in GR's house this year. Now just waiting for the weekend so we can get the tree decorate it and also put up xmas lights! Ya for the holidays and bring on the cheer!!!!

What a weekend

So Gr had his procedure done on Friday morning. I sadly went to work, but his mom and dad were here to help him out and take care of him. He had some pain Friday and I think it was from the muscle spasms he had as well as when the broke up stones would move. But Saturday morning he was feeling much better and they told him to walk as much as possible so me and Ruth took him shopping. The only time GR gets into buying things for his house is when his mom comes down :) so off to Lowes we went. He bought some granite tile for the backsplashes in his bathrooms, a fan, and some paint for the fireplace. Which I must say was the original color I told him to choose. So yesterday he let me pick out a color and Ruth picked out a color. And guess what....he liked my color! I told him he should listen to me more often...maybe the fireplace would have been painted months ago when we started this color search! Then we went to Target and out to lunch at BJ's. By the time we were done he was exhausted. Now today its off to go find some work pants, work on a project, and baking a cheese cake for GR. Hope he likes it!
While GR slept yesterday after the shopping extravaganza, me and Chris went to the pumpkin patch and picked out some pumpkins to carve last night. Here are the results:

reasons to move home

Every single time I go home it makes me want to move home more and more. I really miss my family and the good times I have with them. I went up north this weekend cuz my dad turned 50 on the 13th. We did a dinner and watched the asu game. Thankfully we won only to due with the miracle pass by sullivan....even he couldnt believe he was capable of such a pass. Then Sunday we went to Brandon and Amy's and watched the Cardinals...who won also!! Go AZ football! Anyhow here are some pics from this weekend....

The cutest little pumpkin ever!

The sunset on the drive home...isn't it beautiful?

Life

Man have things been weird lately. I got really sick and had to take a leave for about a week from work. It started on Sunday and was bad enough that G.R. was scared and wanted to take me to ER but I didnt have enough energy to go. So I went to the doctor who immediately tested me for everything including mono and swine flu. long story short, they never really found out what was wrong with me. But I feel better now and hopefully it stays that way!
Gr spent a day cleaning out the garage and working on his uncle Rogers bike for a race they are doing next weekend. Well after biking with dolce and bugging Gr to death about what he was doing we found the nieces and nephews life jackets from the jet skis......well my bright self decided it was the perfect size for dolce! since she gets swept away by currents cuz she goes bird crazy i really think we should invest and buy her one!

I found out today that someone has taken my debit card number and overdrafted my account by buying a bunch of food! haha they charged it to many food places and so now I get to fight with my bank to try to get my money back and reverse my fees.

With all the stress of work and everything going on, I decided I needed a project to keep my attention and get my mind off things. So at work we are doing a secret santa type thing where we get a person and every week we bring them a little gift to cheer them up or to say have a good day. Well just so happens I got a good friend of mine and decided since she just bought a new home I'd make her a little house warming gift. So this was the finished project and it was actually really fun to make! Gr helped me cut out the wood and taught me to router the edges and make the knots in the wood. He said he was proud that after he showed me once I did everything myself instead of having him do it :0)
GR left for the boys annual hunting trip this morning and so I am headed up to show low for the weekend. My dad turned the big 50 on tuesday so im going to go visit him and see the family. I love going home especially right now when the weather is getting warm and you can wear sweaters! anyhow this is how me and dolce spent our evening together watching greys anatomy and private practice. Yep she gets spoiled when he leaves and hangs out on the bed with me :) I get lonely and need someone to cuddle with!

summer is over, now bring on the cool temps!

With Labor day over and gone, I started to realize how close we are to the holiday months! If anyone knows me and my family, you know we do holidays BIG. I mean Thanksgiving, Christmas, Birthdays, you name it we celebrate it. Anyhow as our new fiscal year at work started this month I got to thinking wow I really need to put in time for Christmas before anyone else....and then WHAM it hit me it's September! Summer is over. Why is it still so dang hot out? I am so ready for the fall/winter and the cool temps that accompany those months. Hopefully I actually get to use my snowboard this year!
Life has been pretty crazy lately. It seems like all I do is go go go. The last couple weekends I've been up north- Ashley's bridal shower, getting my hair cut, taking the car to Hatch for an oil change, and visiting the family. Also my Mom, Sandi, and Chels come down for a girls weekend filled with shopping, dinner, and staying the night at the Buttes and hangin out by the pool and relaxing! Over this holiday weekend, G.R. was in our friend Matt's wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony. It was a little muggy outside in the heat/after rain afternoon but other than that it was great to be able to celebrate with Matt and Coby both who are such good people and we were very grateful to enjoy their day with them. Coby looked gorgeous and their receptions was amazing! Too bad I had a little too much to drink and didnt feel so amazing the next day but it was worth it! I'll try to get some pics posted when I get them. The rest of the weekend was a little more relaxed, but went by too quickly! This weekend we are headed to Roosevelt for the weekend with David and Vicki. Hopefully the rain holds off just a bit so we can have some fun in the sun.
I've become super crafty lately. I dont know if its cuz I need something to do while G.R. is being G.R. running around playing mayor helping everyone always moving moving moving. But I've started to become adventurous with my cooking and always looking up new recipe's to try. If only you had unlimited funds to buy the ingredients! I'm attempting stew for the first time tomorrow and then roast and mashed potatoes the next. G.R. is very good and willing to try everything. The only thing we both agreed didnt turn out the best was the chili, which wasnt too bad just not the greatest :) I also redid the coffee table Amy rescued for me and made some really cute art for my wall in the living room. Next I'm off to scrap booking, finish my recipe book, and mod podge letters and signs. So we shall see how it works out!

Thoughts in the early morning

So lately I have been tossing around the idea of returning to my roots and moving home. I love living in the city and I love being so close to GR and I love all the life and hustle bustle the city has to offer. But lately I find myself not being completely happy like my old self. I'm not sure if I am extrememly home sick, miss all my family, bored with life, not happy with my job, wanting a change, or what my problem is. But I know I need to figure it out so I can stop stressing for no reason, stop having crazy mood swings and find myself crying over the dumbest things. I love Gr. I love my new roommates. I love most things about my life. But something is missing or wrong.......but do I really want to take a step back in with my independence and move home? Do I really want to move away from GR? Do I really want to live in Show Low again? I have so much to think about and no clue where to begin.

Happenings

Wow how time flies. It's been awhile since my last post but alot has happened and I just havent had the time! First things first, I got two new roommates. They are both awesome. From ASU. Graduate and soon to be graduate. Love twilight and Harry Potter. Really fun and outgoing and just plain awesome. So this entire weekend went to the move. First friday night drinks at happy hour + Chuy's dinner/drinks/karokee= not a good idea to install ceiling fans till 2 am. haha needless to say we got nothing accomplished. So Saturday we spent the day getting new fans, installing them, changing locks, and deep cleaning the house. Then Crystal and Yvonne moved all their things in and the house under went a transformation. Or still is in one. Its amazing what you'll find or realize you have when you move or have to really clean things up. Its new furniture and housewares and all kind of things.

Sunday was more of a fun/relaxing day. We went Roosevelt with david and vicki and megan and some of her friends. So that was a really good time. Got a little sunburnt and wakeboarded and had some cocktails. All in all a fun day. Didnt do much for my neck and back though which have really been causing some issues. I awoke this morning to not being able to turn my head to the sides and Gr laughing because of my faces which in turn made me really laugh and hurt more. But today Gr and I went to the chiropracter and he fixed us both all up. Both our necks and backs cracked sooo loud. But it felt amazing.

My year review at work is coming up which means raise time! yaya and I'm still tossing around the idea of returning to my roots and moving home to save some money, be near the family, and attend school at half the cost. So we shall see.

Las Vegas

So this weekend was our trip to Vegas! It was so much fun and we were not ready to come on Sunday. GR met me at work on Friday and we made the 5 hour drive there meeting Brian and Chels halfway in Kingman and Chris in Vegas. Of course it was absolute mayhem trying to check in cause everyone was there for the fights so Chris played bartender for us while we waited and then they gave our room away cuz it was so late and then we had to wait in the hallway at like 11:30 while the maid cleaned the room. Then we cruised around the strip and finally made it to bed at like 4 in the morning after casino hopping and enjoying the scenery. The next morning we made our way downtown to Freemont to have breakfast, gamble a little, and get Brian and Chelsea's marriage lisence and then married at the Little White Chapel. Finally it's legal and over with!

Then we went to the Stratosphere and rode the rides up top which were a flippin blast! We rode the one that shoots you up and I was screaming my head off while Gr laughed his off and then we also rode the coaster that shoots you over the side and lets you hang there. It was pretty crazy! Chris got a little more than what he paid for though when the lady sitting next to him decided to make out with him! The lady being like 40's newly married that day and her hubby standing to the side watching! Needless to say he didnt live that one down the rest of the trip! This is us on top of the Stratosphere looking down the strip.

Then we went cruisin down the strip for the night and ate at Dick's Last Resort where our waitress was awesome, super sarcastic, and we had some really great entertainment with the Taco guy stripping, giving lap dances, and making a fool of everyone in the place. We also made it down to the Treasure Island to watch the pirate show and walked throughout the Wynn and Palazzo which are way to swanky to feel comfy in haha but beautiful! The next morning we went and gambled and ate at the Pink Taco down at Hard Rock. There was this club called Rehab that not even joking people waited like 3 hours to get into. It's a pool party so there were a bunch of girls in their bikini's walking around and so the boys were pretty stoked we decided to go there. GR thought all the rock star memorabilia was pretty neat and they had changed it up since I'd last been there so it was pretty cool.

Sadly we tried to leave and get home at a decent hour but there was a 2 1/2 hour delay at Hoover dam so we got home pretty late and were beat by the time we went and picked Dolce up. She had stayed at David and Vicki's all weekend and played with Nilla and Hershey so she was tired but definitely happy to see us. All in all it was a great weekend and a really good first of many trips to Vegas for us.

Work Blues

So yesterday was my first day back at work. No need to say I was seriously sad about going back. I've decided we are all in such a hurry to grow up that we take for granted the times when we had no responsibilities and mom and dad would bail you out in a money situation. Now we have to go to work to pay the bills with no choice to just quit. I really missed the people I worked with cuz they are all so funny and definitely made my job bearable, but I must say if given the choice, I'd certainly stay home haha. It is hard to be back at it and I really forgot how mean and rude people are. But I've told myself the last two days that obviously if they feel the need to scream and yell at me, then my life is way better than theirs. And my month off has made me realize how dumb it was to completely stress everyday about numbers and what not when really if you just relax it'll have the same outcome. I cant force people to do things so if they want it great if not then its your future you jeopardized.
On a better note, I am super excited about Vegas! I think its going to be so much fun and I told Brian and Chels we are not sleeping! haha and that we are doing as much free stuff as possible(other than gambling and drinking). But I know G will be so mesmorized by the lights and what not he'll want to see every casino, so it shouldnt be hard to keep the cost down. So only 3 days to bear of work and then its off for the weekend!

4th of July

4th of July has always been Tradition! I have lived in the valley of the sun for three 4th of July celebrations now and have always said I'd want to see a city like Chandler/Gilbert put on a fireworks display. Although I must say Show Low's has got way better. Anyhow the thought of missing the celebrations up north like the parade which is more about seeing everyone and hanging out at Tom's shop or going to the cul de sac by Roger and Andrea's to watch the fireworks saddens me. I wouldn't miss hanging out with my family, bbq and just kickin back with a cold cocktail.
And...this year we get to watch Kohan ride sheep! He is so excited. Amy and Brandon taught him to say he is 4 even though he isnt haha but he has to be to ride. And so tomorrow he gets to be center stage at the rodeo grounds. I swear Paige can definetely be an attention grabber cuz she is so stinkin adorable but Kohan knows how to command a room full of people already at the age of 3 and have you pay attention. He certainly has his mom's outgoing attitude.
So me and G.R. are off up north again for the 3rd weekend in a row. This summer has been insane for us! First I took a leave of Absence from UOP for the month of June and started with spending 10 days in Mexico for Brian and Chels' wedding. It was so relaxing but missed G and Dolce. Then the weekend I got back we went to Big Lake for the Hatch Family Reunion which was a blast. It was great to get out of the city and enjoy the fresh air and simplicity of the mountains. G.R. finally got me on a dirt bike after many years of asking me to learn and it was actually super fun-I didnt even wreck!. I finally feel like I'm getting my feet when it comes to being myself and being comfortable around his family. Only took me 4 years haha! But they are all awesome people and its amazing to me how such a big family stays so close and tight knit! Last weekend Brians wedding month continued for their Reception in Show Low and a big get together at my parents afterwards. And it still continues cuz me and G.R. just boarded the Vegas trip for next weekend to see them officially and legally marry at the drive in chapel! It's going to be super fun cuz it'll be the first time G.R. has been to vegas other than us going to drop a bike for Hacienda and my first time being in Vegas to truly appreciate it now that I'm finally 21. So stayed tuned for the fun stories from that trip!

Hello blog world!

So after many months of Amy telling me to look at blogspot cuz of all the people you can find I decided to look and BAM I was hooked. So after many more months of looking on here and seeing what other people are up to, I decided to stop stalking and make one of my own. Now I know I dont have a family or probably much to talk about cuz I dont have kids and what everyone seems to brag and talk about on here :), but I do have a crazy boyfriend who is somehow always getting us into some odd and random situation and a dog who on a daily basis probably does things just as interesting and crazy as kids do. So here's to my first post and hopeful people dont find what I have to say boring!
